The Westwood Library opened in 1932, at Epworth and Montana. It is still in use today as a public library. The library was designed by Garber & Woodward.
The Blegen Library entrance is framed by copper light standards, fluted pylons and stylized floral carvings. Above the doorway is a grille bearing a female figure amidst stylized owls, dolphins and rosettes.
Built in 1940, the Deer Park High School is a late example of the Moderne style, the broad facade dominated by a monumental arched entrance. The ribbon windows, which emphasized its horizontality, have been infilled, altering its appearance.
